Designing Magenta's Flagship Game
Fives is the first Magenta game ever published, which is why it celebrates the brand’s colors and typography, using them rather than introducing others. By doing so, it establishes a strong visual foundation for the brand, reinforcing identity from the very beginning.
In Fives, you can play the cards face up, showing their value, or face down, where every card counts as a five. That’s why the backs of all the cards feature a magenta five.
Magenta is used as the trump suit, anchoring the brand’s identity directly to the game.
An accessibility system with indexed icons beneath the numbers has been designed, making the game playable for people with color blindness.
The game instructions have been carefully designed as an editorial piece, with each section organized into clear chapters to enhance readability and make the game easier to understand.
