Books for navigating life’s challenges
Visual identity and editorial design for Buen Dolor, a publishing house founded by Adriana Royo that releases books that guide us through the pains of life, helping us process them, grow, and ease its burden.
The explicit contradiction in the publisher's name –Buen Dolor in Spanish stands for good pain– invites us to see the book as an object that represents this ambivalence: front and back cover as two opposites that form a single entity.
Together, they engage in a dialogue through the project’s name, altering the reading order and hinting at the publisher's purpose of pain being something good to grow from.
Each publication features one color for the front cover and another for the back cover, emphasizing the duality at the core of the publisher’s DNA while also making it easier to distinguish volumes within the same collection.
